Scaredy Cat
You are Biscuit. Nine kilos. Enormous. Beloved. Useless.
The house is coming apart and you need to be outside. You have no claws worth using and no plan, but you are extremely fast when frightened. and in this house speed is the only thing that opens a door.
Every room is a small puzzle: which things do you run at, and in what order, to hit the door hard enough to go through it?
Controls
- WASD — move
- Space — jump (twice)
- Shift — hiss-dash
- R — retry room
- Esc — release the mouse
How it works
- Fear is fuel. The more frightened you are, the faster you run. It drains constantly, so a chain of frights is a race, not a shopping list.
- Speed is the weapon. You have no attacks. Doors have a speed threshold — over it you explode through without slowing down, under it you bounce off with an indignant mrrp and go find something else to be scared of.
- Candlelight is a hazard. It calms you down, and calm means slow. The warm safe-looking part of the room is the part you route around.
- The boards rot where you tread, so you can't double back on yourself.
8 rooms, about 3 minutes. The clock is the score — the route is fixed, so it's built to be run again faster.
